Business areas

The Bell Food Group is made up of the Bell Switzerland, Bell International, Hubers/Sütag, Eisberg, Hilcona and Hügli divisions. The product range includes meat, poultry, charcuterie, seafood, convenience and vegetarian products. Its customers include the retail and food service sectors as well as the food industry. Over 13,000 employees in 14 countries work every day to provide high-quality products and create moments of pleasure for millions of consumers.

In order to achieve this goal, we work closely with our suppliers and sales partners in the retail, food service and food industry.

Bell Switzerland

With its production plants, the Bell Switzerland division offers a complete range of meat, poultry, charcuterie and seafood. Meat production and processing is centralized in Basel for pigs and in Oensingen for cattle. Poultry and seafood are processed in separate plants in Zell and Basel. In charcuterie, the national ranges are produced in Basel, while regional specialties are mainly produced in Churwalden, Gossau, Chermignon and Cheseaux. These include numerous products with a geographically protected designation of origin. The sites in Schlieren and Geneva specialize in food service ranges.

Bell International

The Bell International division consists of the Bell Germany, Bell Spain, Bell France, Bell Poland and Export divisions. The Bell Germany division focuses on its strong position in the German and international raw ham segment. Production plants for regional cured ham specialties are located in Seevetal (DE), Edewecht (DE) and Schiltach (DE). In Spain, Bell International has two production plants for Serrano ham in Fuensalida and Casarrubios del Monte as well as the plant in Azuaga, which specializes in Iberian charcuterie products. Bell France produces various regional raw sausage and raw ham specialties at its sites in Teilhède, Riom, Saint-Symphorien-sur-Coise, Virieu-le-Grand and Aime. Bell Poland produces local charcuterie specialties such as Krakauer and salami at the Niepołomice site, primarily for the Polish market. The Export Division is responsible for the global export business, in which various product ranges from all business units are marketed outside Europe.

Hubers/Sütag

The new Hubers/Sütag division, which was spun off from Bell International on June 1, 2024, comprises the poultry business in Austria and Germany. The Pfaffstätt (AT) site specializes in the slaughtering and cutting of chickens. In Austria, Hubers is the market leader for organic and corn-fed chicken. The slaughtering and cutting plant for turkeys is located in Ampfing (DE).

Eisberg

The Eisberg division specializes in the production of convenience salads, fruits and vegetables. Eisberg has three production plants in Switzerland and one each in Austria, Hungary, Poland and Romania. There is also a purchasing office in Spain for the procurement of some of the raw materials.

Hilcona

The Hilcona division produces a wide range of fresh convenience products at its production facilities in Schaan (FL), Orbe (CH), Schlieren (CH) and Bad Wünnenberg (DE). These are marketed primarily in Switzerland and Germany, as well as in other European countries. The factories in Schlieren (CH) and Landquart (CH) specialize in the artisanal production of small batches, with the latter focusing on the production of vegetarian and vegan meat alternatives

Hügli

The Hügli division has ten production plants in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Spain, the UK and the Netherlands. This makes Hügli one of the largest suppliers of long-life convenience products in Europe. The international production network is complemented by its own sales organizations in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland.
